Greenwich Police stopped a vehicle on East Putnam Avenue that was driving erratically and had sustained significant damage to the front end on Sunday, Feb. 10 around 2 a.m. Officers say the vehicle did not stop for about 100 yards.
Police asked the driver, 46-year-old Victor Manuel Martinez-Flores of Stamford, to perform field sobriety tests, and none were performed to standard. Further investigation revealed that his vehicle hit a parking meter, police said.
Martinez-Flores was arrested and charged with DWI, evading responsibility, failure to maintain lane, wrong direction on one way and disregarding the signal of an officer.
Martinez-Flores is currently being held on a $250 bond. He was scheduled to appear in Stamford court Monday, Feb. 11.
